Gate City seeking participants for King Alleyween

GATE CITY — As Halloween approaches, the town of Gate City is busy planning one of its most popular events: King Alleyween.

This free trunk-or-treat event provides a safe opportunity for children and their families to celebrate Halloween. The town is currently seeking participants to decorate the trunks of their vehicles and give out candy to the children.

About the event: King Alleyween will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, from 6-9 p.m. In addition to the trunk-or-treat, the event will feature a costume contest, a pumpkin-carving contest, a movie at the Gate City Theater, hayrides, a DJ, a special dance performance by the Jenkins School of Dance and more.

Registration: Individuals, churches, organizations or businesses that would like to participate are asked to register at KingAlleyween.com. Registration is free and will help the town plan the event.
