WEBER COUNTY — Police in Weber County are searching for a man who wielded a handgun while robbing a Washington Terrace gas station early Tuesday morning.

The Weber County Sheriff’s Office posted a photo of the robber on their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon and asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

Around 1 a.m. Tuesday, police say a man entered the Maverik gas station at 5153 S. Adams Ave. The man pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money, according to the post.

The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, then the robber fled the scene on foot. Police arrived at the store shortly after, but they were not able to locate the suspect, the post said.

The man is described as being between 5 feet 9 inches and 6 feet tall and weighing between 250-275 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, blue jeans and a black and gray hoodie with Oakland Raiders logos on the front and back. He was also wearing a blue bandana over his face at the time of the robbery.

If you recognize the suspect or have any additional information regarding the early-morning robbery, please call Detective Haney with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office at 801-778-6635, or call Weber Area Dispatch at 801-629-8221.
