The old bulldog on the left is turning 80 this week. Darwin Hill was born September 17, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, to Robert and Elizabeth Hill. He had one brother, Robert, who was also his best friend. He was raised in Washington Terrace and graduated from Weber High School.
He married Luella Peterson in 1957, and they were married for fifty years before her passing nine years ago. They had four children: Scott, Doug, Kristen and David (Pam). He has five grandchildren: Heath (Kristi), Holton, Dylan, Ryan and Elizabeth. He has two great-grandchildren, Connor and Emily.
Darwin worked for forty-seven years at the phone company, beginning at Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph, ending at Qwest Communications. Throughout the years Darwin has been active in sports, playing recreational softball and basketball in Ogden City. He has enjoyed playing golf, and has two holes-in-one.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate on September 16, 2017, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. at Friendship Park, 5500 South 650 East, South Ogden.
